Albertans Welcome the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge July 6 – 8, 2011

According to YourAlberta newsletter, their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will visit Alberta from July 6-8, 2011 as part of their first visit to Canada as a married couple.

Tomorrow, Albertans get to greet and welcome the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge via these two main opportunities:

  1. as they travel the route of the Stampede Parade and at
  2. their official departure ceremony at Rotary Challenger Park in Calgary.

Also, the Royal Couple will make a stop in Slave Lake on July 6 and meet with residents affected by the recent, devastating wild fires.

Premier Stelmach is looking forward to “joining the Royal Couple in Slave Lake on Wednesday as emergency workers and families share in the remarkable stories of hope that have emerged from the ashes of Slave Lake.”

Premier Stelmach to join Royal Couple in Slave Lake

Edmonton… Premier Ed Stelmach issued the following statement today on the announcement that Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be visiting Slave Lake on July 6.

“Throughout the Royal Tour, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have demonstrated that they are caring and compassionate people who love this country,” said Premier Stelmach. “The fires that ravaged Slave Lake and the surrounding area began as a tragedy, but have turned into a story highlighting the strength, determination and courage of Slave Lake and area residents as they rebuild their fire ravaged town. I look forward to joining the Royal Couple in Slave Lake on Wednesday as emergency workers and families share in the remarkable stories of hope that have emerged from the ashes of Slave Lake.”
