  • Gardiner Expressway will be closed in both directions between Carlaw Avenue and the Humber River from 2 a.m. on Saturday, May 21 to 8 a.m. on Monday, May 23 (Victoria Day).
  • Full closure of the expressway will be required in order to perform myriad maintenance activities safely on the Gardiner Expressway, which include:

• continuation of work on the Jameson bridge
• deck repairs
• repairs to bases of light poles
• spring catchbasin cleaning (for water drainage)
• maintenance of pavement markings and signs
• maintenance of closed-circuit television cameras
• inspection and repair of overhead signs
RESCU vehicle detector repairs
• guiderail repairs, and
• expressway sweeping and litter removal.

The City of Toronto suggests that if you are driving, you can take Lake Shore Boulevard and the Queensway as alternative routes during the closure.
