If you just bought a first-generation iPad at one of Apple’s retail stores or through Apple’s website, you can get $100 back from Apple.
Please note that the “partial refund is only available to owners who purchased their tablet within the two weeks before it was discounted, making for a cut-off date of around February 16”, according to Sky News Online.
Apple is doing this refund for first-generation iPads because the ” iPad 2 will hit stores at a starting price of $499 (£307), the same as the original did, at the iPad 2′ s debut of March 11 in the US”. Then the iPad 2 will be available in twenty-six other countries, including Britain, on March 25.
In order to get the $100 refund, you need to:
- present the original purchase receipt
- and request a refund within 14 days of the price reduction;
- online shoppers should call Apple customer service.
