MEDIA ADVISORY – Minor hockey girls to receive FREE skills training with two-time Olympic Gold Medalist Vicky Sunohara at Scotiabank Girls HockeyFest Ottawa

OTTAWA, Jan. 11 /CNW/ -Two-time Olympic gold medalist and one of Canada’s most popular women’s hockey players, Vicky Sunohara, will spend Saturday with 300 female minor hockey players at Scotiabank Place for the seventh annual Scotiabank Girls HockeyFest, Ottawa.  This FREE event offered in partnership with the Ottawa Senators, provides a unique blend of skills training, fun and encouragement to inspire girls to reach for their goals both on and off the ice.

WHAT: Scotiabank Girls HockeyFest, Ottawa.  In its seventh year, 300 female minor hockey players will learn skills training both on and off the ice.
WHO: Vicky Sunohara, 2002 & 2006 Olympic gold medalist and former Assistant Captain, Team Canada Women’s Hockey
Players from the Carleton Ravens women’s hockey team
Players from the Ottawa Senators women’s hockey teams
300 novice, atom and peewee level girls (ages 7 – 12 years)
WHEN: Saturday, January 15, 2011 1:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. – Girls will rotate between on-ice skills training, off-ice skills training and tours of Scotiabank Place. 4:15 pm sharpVicky Sunohara’s presentation begins in the arena bowl
