Toronto residents can now apply for child care services online or through 311

The City of Toronto’s Children’s Services division now offers two new options for parents to apply for a child care subsidy or space within a municipal child care centre. They can either apply online at http://www.toronto.ca/children or call 311, and both options are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

“This helps busy parents by making it possible to register their children outside of regular business hours,” said Councillor Giorgio Mammoliti (Ward 7 York West), Chair of the Community Development and Recreation Committee.

“This is an example of how we are improving customer service to Toronto residents,” he added.

Completing an application takes only about 10 minutes. Applicants are encouraged to verify what documentation and information is required before completing either form to ensure a faster process. The list of required information, instructions on how to fill out the applications and information on Toronto Children’s Services’ programs and services are available online at http://www.toronto.ca/children or by calling 311. The 311 customer service line can provide service in more than 180 languages.
