The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food of Quebec / Le ministère de l’Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l’Alimentation du Québec (MAPAQ), in collaboration with the company Boucherie Le Gourmet (located at 852, Route Lefort, à Duhamel-Ouest, Quebec, Canada), is warning the public not to consume the spaghetti sauce with meat from this company if this product was not kept in the refrigerator at all times since its purchase. This product does not contain the words “Keep Refrigerated” on the container.
Regarding Boucherie Le Gourmet’s voluntary recall of the above product, other details are as follows:
- The above product was sold until December 6, 2013 inclusively.
- The sauce was put up for sale in glass jars in a format 500 milliliters or 1 liter packaging bearing the dates of 20 November 2013 or 27 November 2013.
- Product marked «sauce à spaghetti bœuf, Boucherie Le Gourmet, Duhamel-Ouest» has been sold to the designated facility above and in certain establishments in Laverlochère and Temiskaming, Quebec.
- It should be noted that no cases of illness associated with the consumption of this product have been reported so far.
- People who have this food product in their possession are advised not to consume it, and to return it to the above institution where they bought it if it was not kept refrigerated at all times.

Avis de ne pas consommer de la sauce à spaghetti à la viande
Québec , le 10 décembre 2013 – Le MAPAQ, en collaboration avec l’entreprise Boucherie Le Gourmet, située au 852, Route Lefort, à Duhamel-Ouest, avise la population de ne pas consommer la sauce à spaghetti à la viande de cette entreprise si cet aliment n’a pas été conservé en tout temps au réfrigérateur depuis son achat. Ce produit ne comporte pas la mention « Garder réfrigéré » sur son contenant.
Le produit qui fait l’objet de la présente mise en garde a été vendu jusqu’au 6 décembre 2013 inclusivement. La sauce était conditionnée pour la vente dans des pots de verre d’un format de 500 millilitres ou de 1 litre et portant les dates d’emballage du 20 novembre 2013 ou du 27 novembre 2013. Le produit portant l’indication « sauce à spaghetti bœuf, Boucherie Le Gourmet, Duhamel-Ouest» a été vendu à l’établissement désigné ci-dessus ainsi que dans certains établissements de Laverlochère et de Temiscaming.
L’entreprise procède volontairement au rappel du produit. Elle a convenu avec le MAPAQ de diffuser le présent avertissement par mesure de précaution. Il y a lieu de préciserqu’aucun cas de maladie associée à la consommation de cet aliment n’a été signalé jusqu’à présent. Les personnes qui ont ce produit en leur possession sont donc avisées de ne pas le consommer et de le retourner à l’établissement où elles l’ont acheté s’il n’a pas été conservé en tout temps au réfrigérateur.
