This is a clear case of two tech companies being too close for comfort as demonstrated by Apple and Samsung suing each other.
Apple is passionately dependent on Samsung to supply components in a number of its products, including its phones and computers.
And Samsung’s largest customer is Apple.
However, these two tech companies are ardent rivals in both the mobile phone and computer markets.
The lawsuits of Samsung and Apple are as follows.
- First, on April 15, 2011, Apple sued Samsung on patent infringement and trademark issues in the U.S., “claiming that the South Korean company copied the “look and feel” of iPhones and iPads with its Galaxy devices — smartphones, tablets and media players.”
- Then, after Apple’s lawsuit, Samsung Electronics Co. said Friday, April 22, it filed patent infringement lawsuits against Apple Inc. in Seoul, Tokyo and Germany (involving 5 Korean patents, 2 Japanese patents, and 3 German patents, respectively).
- Samsung accused Apple of violating patents covering cellphone transmission technologies.
