This is an update to my previous blog Smog Alert from July 2, 2013: City of Ottawa, Eastern and Parts of Southern Ontario.

The good news is that effective immediately a Smog Advisory has been lifted by the Ministry of the Environment for the following forecast regions in Ontario, Canada:

Smog Alert from July 2, 2013: City of Ottawa, Eastern and Parts of Southern Ontario

  • A smog advisory was issued for most of eastern Ontario on Tuesday (July 2, 2013), including the City of Ottawa.

Expanded Smog Alert Includes Central & Eastern Ontario Regions Aug.4, 2012

This is an update to my previous blog Smog Alert: Halton-Peel & Southwestern Ontario Regions Aug.3, 2012.

The existing Smog Alert of August 3, 2012, is now expanded to include the following additional forecast regions in Ontario, Canada:

  • Barrie-Orillia-Midland
  • Belleville-Quinte-Northumberland
  • City of Toronto
  • Dufferin-Innisfil
  • Grey-Bruce
  • Haliburton
  • Kingston-Prince Edward
  • Parry Sound-Muskoka-Huntsville
  • Peterborough-Kawartha Lakes
  • Stirling-Tweed-South Frontenac
  • York-Durham

A Smog Advisory remains in effect for:

  • City of Hamilton
  • Dunnville-Caledonia-Haldimand

  • Halton-Peel
  • Huron-Perth
  • London-Middlesex
  • Niagara
  • Oxford-Brant
  • Sarnia-Lambton
  • Simcoe-Delhi-Norfolk
  • Waterloo-Wellington
  • Windsor-Essex-Chatham-Kent

Hot and sunny conditions with light south to southeasterly winds are resulting in elevated smog levels across parts of southern Ontario.

This smog advisory will remain in effect until further notice.

* A Smog Advisory means that there is a strong likelihood that there may be poor air quality within the next 24 hours due to ground-level ozone and/or particulate matter.
