York Region Food Network‘s premiere of FRESH the movie happened on November 4, 2010 in Newmarket, Ontario, Canada. FRESH the movie challenged us to think about what we eat.

Ana’s 10 FRESH Solutions

1. Buy local produce
2. Shop at your local farmers market; join CSA (Community Shared Agriculture)
3. Support restaurants and food vendors that buy locally produced food
4. Avoid GMOs (Genetically Modified Organisms)
5. Cook, can, dry & freeze
6. Drink plenty of water but avoid bottled water
7. Grow a garden
8. Volunteer or donate
9. Get involved in your community
10. Share your passion

Food Security

For your info, community food security is defined as a situation in which all community residents obtain a safe, culturally acceptable nutritionally adequate diet through a sustainable food system that maximizes community self-reliance and social justice.
