Ontario Revitalizes West Don Lands Via Constructing Athletes’ Village Now for 2015 Pan/Parapan American Games

Here is a video showing the exciting revitalization and transformation of the West Don Lands in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, into a beautifully designed, sustainable mixed-use riverside community as well as the temporary Pan/Parapan American Games Athletes’ Village in 2015:

“THE CITY OF TORONTO, PROVINCE OF ONTARIO AND GOVERNMENT OF CANADA ARE COMMITTED TO MAKING THE REVITALIZATION OF TORONTO’S CENTRAL WATERFRONT A REALITY.”

Henceforth, Ontario is starting construction for a new waterfront community in the West Don Lands for the following purposes:

Eglinton-Scarborough Crosstown Construction: New Transit & Jobs for Canadians

The Eglinton-Scarborough Crosstown is one of the largest transit expansion projects in North America today — and it’s happening right here in Toronto as shown in this video:

TTC and Metrolinx, a provincial Crown agency, are bringing new transit to Toronto – starting with the Eglinton-Scarborough Crosstown line.

Eglinton-Scarborough Crosstown project is funded by the Province of Ontario through Metrolinx.

National Public Works Week in Ontario: May 15 to 21, 2011

To recognize the contributions of dedicated workers in public works and infrastructure, Ontario in Canada has declared the week of  May 15 to 21, 2011, to be National Public Works Week for the province.

A big Thank-You to these wonderful workers for their great works in areas of public necessities which include:

  • Pipes that deliver safe drinking water

Let’s celebrate National Public Works Week for the following positive results due to investment in public works and infrastructure projects:

  • Ontario has invested $62 billion in infrastructure since 2003, creating or supporting over 80,000 jobs on average per year.
  • Over the next three years, the province plans to invest more than $35 billion in infrastructure, creating and supporting over 300,000 jobs.

The Baseline Station Tunnel will connect Ottawa’s bus rapid transit and light rail transit systems.

The Baseline Station Tunnel connection project has a total value of $38,000,000; and $12,666,667 of this total value was Federal Funding from the Infrastructure Stimulus Fund (ISF).
