NFBeats at SCOTIABANK NUIT BLANCHE 2010

This Saturday, October 2nd, NFBeats at SCOTIABANK NUIT BLANCHE 2010 will be a sensational experience of partying for all ages at the National Film Board of Canada (NFB) Mediatheque in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, from 6:57 pm to sunrise.

Everyone of all ages are invited to show off their dance moves. And with each move you will “trigger new patterns, colours and images, creating an interactive art project fuelled by the collective rhythm of everyone who steps onto the dance floor”. You will see the cool sights as well as actively creating them “against a pulsating musical backdrop of both traditional and innovative NFB films from Pas de deux (1968) to RiP: A Remix Manifesto (2008)”.

In effect, you will make an all-night remix session of film history at the NFB Mediatheque. So enjoy the “interactive nature of film while taking creative control each step of the way!”!

Local Farm Food in Green Ontario

Green Screens is a monthly program at the NFB Mediatheque which highlights a different environmental issue each month, in partnership with CIELAP – Canadian Institute for Environmental Law and Policy - (local farm food practices being one such example). The NFB Mediatheque selects the NFB (National Film Board of Canada) films to screen, and CIELAP provides the panellists.

On Wednesday, July 7th, Green Screens presented a free film event which included the feature film, Earth to Mouth, a panel discussion about the importance of supporting local farmers in Ontario, Canada, and a reception which followed the screening.

The panel discussion of Green Screens featured Wally Seccombe, Chair, Everdale: Organic Farm & Environmental Learning Centre, and Susan Murray, Director of Communications, Greenbelt Foundation. Samples of local food were provided by Karma Cooperative.

Green Screens entertained and informed us about Green Ontario as shown in the following SweetLoveable Videos (Part 1 and Part 2).  Thank you Jennifer, Melissa and Kate for your valuable help in the production of  the following Green Screens for Green Ontario.
