CFIA Notification: Verger Belliveau Orchard Sweet Apple Cider Recalled

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) reports that Verger Belliveau Orchard Sweet Apple Cider is recalled due to patulin which is a toxic chemical produced from a number of moulds such as Penicillium and Aspergillus.

  • Recall Classification: “Class 3.
    • Class 3“ is a situation in which the use of, or exposure to, a violative product is not likely to cause any adverse health consequences.
  • This affected product was sold in New Brunswick.

CFIA Notice: Certain Verger Belliveau Orchard Brand Cider is Recalled

On October 15, 2013, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) issued the  notice below regarding a recall of certain Verger Belliveau Orchard brand cider because it may contain patulin, a mycotoxin.

  • This product was distributed for retail in New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island.
