The City of Toronto (Ontario, Canada) will recognize community recreation volunteers for their dedication and valuable contributions in the Toronto and East York District and in the Scarborough District on Wednesday – April 27 and Thursday – April 28, respectively.

Tomorrow, 190 community recreation volunteers in the Toronto and East York District will receive recognition from Councillor Gord Perks (Ward 14 Parkdale-High Park), Chair of the Toronto and East York Community Council, and the City of Toronto staff at the following reception:

Wednesday, April 27

Reception at 6:30 p.m.; Awards Presentation at 8 p.m.

Also, the four awards to be presented are:

  • Youth Group of the Year,
  • Youth of the Year,
  • Group of the Year and
  • Volunteer of the Year.

Then on Thursday, 29 community recreation volunteers in the Scarborough District will receive recognition from Councillor Paul Ainslie (Ward 43 Scarborough East), Chair of the Scarborough Community Council, and the City of Toronto staff at the following reception:
