“Small business is the backbone of a successful city and this week is a celebration of small business owners whose innovation, creativity and job creation have made significant contributions to our community,” said Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua.

  • The City of Vaughan will celebrate Small Business Week with up to 20 different FREE seminars and workshops designed to benefit small and medium sized businesses in all stages of growth.
    • All businesses are welcome.
    • Last year, the event drew more than 650 businesses.
  • Vaughan Small Business Week includes the following benefits.
    • Build brand awareness.
    • Attract potential new customers.
    • Increase your knowledge with informative seminars.
  • Hear leading business experts talk about topics such as:
    • Financing Your Business;
    • Personal Branding;
    • Marketing Your Business; and
    • Youth Entrepreneurship.
  • This year’s opening keynote speaker is TSUFIT, author of the award-winning book, Step into the Spotlight – A Guide to Getting Noticed.
  • Focus on Youth Entrepreneurship – Small Business Week
    • Youth considering entrepreneurship as a career path are invited to a special evening dedicated to learning and networking with other young and energetic business leaders.
    • Come meet with the Canadian Youth Business Foundation and learn how you can access funding for youth-related ventures.

Mon 10/21/13:

  • 9 am – 11 am: Small Business Week Opening Ceremony features a welcome message/introduction by Mayor Bevilacqua, followed by a networking breakfast, and key note address by Tsufit.
  • 11 am – 1 pm: Transforming Your Advertising Approach to the 21st Century.
  • 2 pm – 4 pm: Putting the Magnifying Glass on Your Industry.
  • 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm: 9 Steps to Transforming Your Business
  • 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm: Youth Entrepreneurship
    • Speakers: Andrew Guy, James Bortolus, Michael Eisen.
