HOMEGROWN FILMS at the NFB Cinema

A program in Toronto, Ontario, that highlights the importance of sustainable agriculture and celebrates local food practices. A panel discussion and reception follow the screening – sample local produce and discuss the importance of supporting local farmers in Ontario, Canada.


Featuring:

Earth to Mouth
Directed by Yung Chang, 2002, 41 min
Filmed at the Wing Fong Farm in Ontario, this documentary follows the tilling, planting and harvesting of Asian vegetables destined for Chinese markets and restaurants.

The panel discussion will feature Wally Seccombe, Chair, Everdale Farms; Lauren Baker, Director, Sustain Ontario; and Susan Murray, Director of Communications, Greenbelt Foundation. Samples of local food will be provided by Karma Cooperative.

Green Screens partners films from the NFB with experts and panellists selected by the Canadian Institute for Environmental Law and Policy (CIELAP). If you are interested in the environment, Green Screens will entertain and inform you!
