Saputo Inc. (Montreal, Quebec), is warning the public not to consume the Neilson Trutaste 2% Microfiltered Partly Skimmed Milk, with best before date February 12, 2012, because it may be contaminated with a cleaning solution.
The details regarding Saputo’s voluntary recall of Neilson Trutaste 2% Microfiltered Partly Skimmed Milk from the marketplace are as follows:
- sold in 4 L bags bearing UPC066800 00404 4
- the Best Before code: 1590 FE12 H7
- Best Before code appears on the bag closure tab
- no other codes are affected
- has been distributed in Ontario and in Aylmer, Quebec
- there has been one reported reaction associated with the consumption of this product
- milk contaminated with this cleaning solution may not look or smell spoiled
- consumption of this product may cause symptoms such as nausea, upset stomach or vomiting
The affected Neilson Trutaste 2% Microfiltered Partly Skimmed Milk should not be consumed.

OTTAWA, January 26, 2012 – The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Saputo Inc. are warning the public not to consume the Neilson Trutaste 2% Microfiltered Partly Skimmed Milk, with best before date February 12, 2012, described below. This product may be contaminated with a cleaning solution.
The affected product, Neilson Trutaste 2% Microfiltered Partly Skimmed milk, is sold in 4 L bags bearing UPC 066800 00404 4 and the Best Before code 1590 FE12 H7. The Best Before code appears on the bag closure tab. No other codes are affected.
This product has been distributed in Ontario and in Aylmer, Quebec.
There has been one reported reaction associated with the consumption of this product.

OTTAWA, le 26 janvier 2012 – L’Agence canadienne d’inspection des aliments (ACIA) et Saputo Inc. avisent la population de ne pas consommer de lait partiellement écrémé 2% microfiltré de marque Trutaste de Neilson, dont la date de péremption est le 12 février 2012, décrit ci-dessous. En effet, le produit visé pourrait être contaminé par une solution de nettoyage.
Le produit visé, le lait partiellement écrémé 2% microfiltré de marque Trutaste de Neilson est vendu en sacs de 4 L portant le CUP 066800 00404 4, et le code « Meilleur avant » 1590 FE12 H7. Ce dernier est inscrit sur l’attache de fermeture du sac. Aucun autre code n’est touché.
Le produit visé a été distribué en Ontario ainsi qu’à Aylmer, au Québec.
Un cas de réaction associé à la consommation de ce produit a été signalé.
Le lait contaminé par la solution de nettoyage ne présentent pas nécessairement d’altération visible ni d’odeur suspecte. La consommation de ce produit peut provoquer des symptômes comme des nausées, des dérangements d’estomac ou des vomissements. Le produit visé ne devrait pas être consommé.
Le fabricant, Saputo Inc., de Montréal (Québec), retire volontairement du marché le produit visé. L’ACIA surveille l’efficacité du rappel.
