Due to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) test results, Cargill Meat Solutions (Est. 700) is recalling Your Fresh Market brand ground beef products from the marketplace due to possible E. coli O157:H7 (a.k.a. E. coli O157) contamination.

  • Consumers should not consume the recalled products.

This is an update to the previous blog, Recall: Frozen Pork Spring Rolls, Pork Buns & Pork Wontons from Vinh Fat Food Products, Edmonton.

  • This recall was triggered by the E. coli O157:H7 foodborne outbreak investigation led by Alberta Health Services (http://www.albertahealthservices.ca/10353.asp) and supported by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA).
  • Additional distribution information and selling dates were identified during the outbreak investigation.
  • Vinh Fat Food Products is recalling frozen pork spring rolls, pork buns and pork wontons from the marketplace due to possible E. coli O157:H7 bacteria contamination.
    • Consumers should not consume the recalled products described below.

Update: 2nd List of Recalled Raw Pork Products from V&T Meat and Food Wholesale Calgary, Alberta

This is an update to the previous blog, Recall: Raw Pork Products from V&T Meat and Food-Calgary and Hiep Thanh Trading-Edmonton, Alberta.

“We have E.coli 0157:H7 from those two establishments and we’re waiting for the genetic fingerprinting (that may link them to the human cases),” Dr. James Talbot, the province’s chief medical officer, said in an interview….

While results from genetic testing will likely confirm the two meat shops were the source of the tainted pork, Talbot said the investigation is still far from over.

“We’re looking at people who may have supplied meat to those facilities,” he said.

  • V&T Meat Wholesale, Chestermere, Alberta, is recalling certain raw pork products from the marketplace due to possible E. coli O157:H7 contamination.
    • Raw pork products sold at Trimming Fresh Meats Ltd. and Hiep Hoa Asian Food in Calgary, Alberta, are recalled.
  • Consumers, food service establishments, retailers, distributors and manufacturers in Alberta, should not consume, serve, use, or sell certain raw pork products sold by these retailers because the raw pork products may be contaminated with E. coli O157:H7.
