The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food of Quebec / Le ministère de l’Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l’Alimentation du Québec (MAPAQ), in collaboration with the the company operating under the firm name Pensée Santé and established at 20A, Route 271, St-Ephrem, Quebec, Canada, is warning the public not to consume crunchy carob manufactured by this company, as this product contains peanut butter YUM brand that is the subject of a notice to consumers from of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency due to possible contamination with Salmonella or other harmful bacteria.
Regarding Pensée Santé’s voluntary recall of this product, the details are as follows:
- All units of the product with an expiry date between 28 April 2013 and 27 May 2013 inclusive
- The product, sold in a format of 280 grams, bears on its label: “PENSÉE SANTÉ, CROQUANTS AU CAROUBE“
- It should be noted that no cases of illness associated with the consumption of this food have been reported to date to MAPAQ
- People who have this product in their possession are advised not to consume:

Avis de ne pas consommer des croquants à la caroube de marque Pensée Santé
Québec , le 26 mars 2013 – Le MAPAQ, en collaboration avec l’entreprise exerçant des activités sous la raison sociale Pensée Santé et établie au 20A, route 271, à St-Éphrem, avise la population de ne pas consommer les croquants à la caroube fabriqués par cette entreprise car ce produit contient du beurre d’arachide de marque YUM qui fait l’objet d’un avis aux consommateurs de la part de l’Agence canadienne d’inspection des aliments en raison d’une possible contamination par la bactérie Salmonella ou une autre bactérie nocive.
Le présent avis concerne toutes les unités des produits comportant une date limite de conservation située entre le 28 avril 2013 et le 27 mai 2013 inclusivement. Le produit, vendu dans un format de 280 grammes, porte sur son étiquette la mention « PENSÉE SANTÉ ,CROQUANTS AU CAROUBE ».
L’entreprise procède volontairement au rappel du produit. Elle a convenu avec le MAPAQ de diffuser cet avertissement par mesure de précaution. Il y a lieu de préciser qu’aucun cas de maladie associée à la consommation de cet aliment n’a été signalé à ce jour au MAPAQ.
Les personnes qui ont ce produit en leur possession sont donc avisées de ne pas le consommer. Elles doivent soit le retourner à l’établissement où elles l’ont acheté ou encore le jeter.
